Position Summary
The ASC Payer Contracting Manager is responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing payer contracts for ambulatory surgery centers supporting cardiology and cardiovascular service lines. This role partners closely with physicians, ASC leadership, finance, revenue cycle, and legal teams to optimize reimbursement, ensure contract compliance, and support ASC growth and profitability.

Position Summary
The ASC Payer Contracting Manager is responsible for developing, negotiating, and managing payer contracts for ambulatory surgery centers supporting cardiology and cardiovascular service lines. This role partners closely with physicians, ASC leadership, finance, revenue cycle, and legal teams to optimize reimbursement, ensure contract compliance, and support ASC growth and profitability.
- Lead payer contracting strategy for cardiology-focused ASCs, including interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, and cath lab services
- Negotiate commercial, Medicare Advantage, and managed care payer agreements to achieve competitive reimbursement and favorable contract terms
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, including negotiations, execution, amendments, renewals, and terminations
- Collaborate with finance and analytics teams to model reimbursement scenarios and assess financial impact of contract changes
- Ensure accurate interpretation and implementation of contract terms across revenue cycle, billing, and operational teams
- Monitor contract performance, utilization trends, expected reimbursement and payer compliance
- Serve as primary point of contact for payer representatives and internal stakeholders
- Support ASC expansion initiatives, including new service lines, payer participation, and market entry strategies
- Maintain contract documentation and data within contract lifecycle management systems
- Stay current on regulatory, reimbursement, and industry trends impacting cardiology ASCs
Required
- Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in healthcare payer contracting or managed care
- Demonstrated experience negotiating ASC and cardiology-related payer contracts
- Strong understanding of reimbursement methodologies, fee schedules, and value-based arrangements
- Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally with clinical, financial, and operational teams
- Experience with cardiovascular or cardiology-focused ASC service lines
- Contracting experience in the Florida and Arizona markets
- Proficient in Excel for contract modeling
- Familiarity with Medicare Advantage and value-based payment models
- Advanced negotiation and relationship management skills
- Financial and reimbursement analysis
- Contract interpretation and compliance oversight
- Data-driven decision making
- Clear and effective communication with clinical and executive stakeholders
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Primarily office-based with occasional travel to ASCs or payer meetings
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
